Alternative Provision

Supporting young people to build confidence, independence and brighter futures.

At Stride, we provide personalised alternative education pathways for young people who need a different approach to learning, personal development and preparing for adulthood.

Our programmes are designed around each young person’s individual needs, strengths and aspirations, helping them develop essential life skills, grow in confidence and explore opportunities for their future.

Whether the goal is to develop greater independence or take the first steps towards meaningful employment, our support focuses on helping every young person make progress in a way that works for them.

Finding the Right Pathways

Every young person has different ambitions and may need a different type of support to achieve them. That’s why Stride offers two alternative provision pathways, each designed to support young people at different stages of their journey towards adulthood and independence.

Supported Internship Programme

Supported Internship Programme

Our two-year programme supports young people aged 16–25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to build confidence, independence and employability skills as they work towards paid employment.

Through personalised learning, social activities and work placements aligned with their career goals, learners receive tailored support throughout their journey, with ongoing employment support available upon completion.

Steps Forward Independence and Life Skills Programme

Steps Forward: Independence and Life Skills

Steps Forward provides personalised one-to-one support for young people who need additional help to build confidence, independence and the practical skills needed for adulthood.

Working with a dedicated Progression Coach, participants develop everyday skills through meaningful activities at home and in the community, working towards their individual goals and future aspirations.
